I blame a lot of this on the churces themselves. Too much wokeness BS is driving people out. I am just as Christian as before, but I refuse to attend wokeness indoctrination services.
Fascism (including Democrat fascism) is popular, especially among weak willed cowards. People are afraid of suffering the same fate as other victims of an active government + megacorporation crackdown. And fascists tell compelling lies that make it sound like their opponents are evil and deserve to be driven out of polite society.
Unfortunately, some pastors have jumped on the Democrat fascism bandwagon. It's disgusting.
