You can usually judge a church's character by their willingness to meet in person despite state restrictions.

Yep - we got pretty creative about how we met up, and our based priest found ways of getting around the diocese restrictions (didn't they tell you? We all required Last Rites, long-form with both Liturgies, because of the 'coof you know. Just so happens that it's needed every Sunday, and for a group of us).

He said (paraphrased) that they never stopped saying Mass during the Black Death, so why stop doing it now?

You ever get a preacher/priest/rabbi like that, you treasure the hell out of him.
