To be scientific about the cost versus the gain, you would also have to take into account suicides caused by the isolation, loss of income and possibly some other related factors. people who died because of untreated/undetected cancer. Of which my uncle was one. there is also hard to quantify effects of the lock downs such as crime, abuse within the home, children losing an entire year of education. So, while your remark is pithy.
