If you were related to Mayans, they are badass. I'd be proud of their architecture and chinampa idea for gardening plus they made stepped running water. Their writing was cool. The weaving the women do (like entire dresses - also boss). I know there are some left but pretty much city-fied now.
This is why I wish they would've been killed if they tried to enter America. Fuck if people shout it's heartless -- this is about keeping America safe & great

Do what I do, go on about how proud you are about your conquistador heritage. Coming to a new lands, conquering the evil human sacrificing natives, and having children with the natives that led to us mestizos.
It's always fun to remind people, if you are of mestizo heritage, like I am, half your heritage comes from brave conquerors, and they are who I idolize, not the losers.
