SCP 0019-A was first discovered in a Chinese bioweapons' lab where it was created. The events that lead up to its release are currently being investigated. It's anomalous properties are wide and varied, and tend to affect humans of different ideological bends differently.

SCP 0019-A causes mass hysteria in [data expunged] if people within 100 ft. of them do not wear a SCP 0019-B instance on their face. This happens despite SCP 0019-A having [redacted] symptoms consistent with that of a severe seasonal [data expunged]. These reactions are prevented by the wearing of a typical surgical mask, face shield, or even a [data expunged].

At this point the face covering becomes a SCP 0019-B instance, and will cause mild neurological stress, depression, and/or anxiety if removed from an exposed individual's face. An exposed individual of [redacted] ideology will experience no adverse effects if they remove a SCP 0019-B instance themselves, without usage of amnestic.

The Foundation is currently locked in a struggle with many of the major governments of the world over containing SCP 0019. These governments view SCP 0019 as a powerful tool that can be used to centralize control over their respective countries, and believe it a waste to diminish SCP 0019's effects by administering class B amnestics to their countries' populations.

The Foundation's goal being to protect humanity, they cannot risk exposure to a world dominated by mass media, and thus have been forced to work covertly against the nations of, [EXPUNGED], [data corrupted], [FILE MISSING], etc.

The Foundation is currently exploring tactical options against the offending nations.
