Lady Pede checking in.

I don't think she's ugly. She's just... normal.

The thing about advertising, good advertising, is one is presented with something to strive for, to wish for, to attain. I shopped Victoria's Secret catalog back in the day and they had classy clothes. And the models were thin and gorgeous. They made me want to buy the clothes, because maybe I would look like them when I wore them. My joke was always "well thank you but I was hoping they would include the boobs with this dress cause I'm just not curving it out like the picture." :D

Then they killed the catalogs and went all online and killed the clothing line... I still looked, cause the jammies are comfy and I need undies. But they started using models who are just... normal. Not ugly or anything, and I don't care if they aren't super skinny but damn, where were all the beautiful models? Where was the pretty? What they presented was just meh. If I want meh, I can look in the mirror. Meh doesn't sell anything. We want the sizzle. Even chicks want to look at hot chicks when deciding what to buy.

So yeah, not ugly, just meh. I wonder if their sales have gone a bit meh too.

To be fair, a lot of lefties can look at this picture and find tons to arrive for. Because she's normal.

And the models were thin and gorgeous.

When I was like 12 years old I would flip through my mom's Victoria's Secret catalogs just so I could ogle Stephanie Seymour. Good times.

Also ladypede, and this is spot on. I can look out my window right now and see someone walking their dog that looks exactly like this. I wouldn’t think “oh, she’s hideous”. I would think she looks like someone who threw something on to walk her dog. I don’t want to buy her outfit. Whether people like it or not brand recognition is a real thing. This isn’t cutting it. Walmart is equally as glamorous and a lot cheaper.

Selling Walmart style at Victoria’s Secret prices is a recipe for success or something

I used to spend all kinds of money on VS sweaters, tops, lingerie. Then they started selling sweatpants with Pink written on them. I’m with you sister.

omg yes the sweaters! I still have all my silk/cashmere blend VS sweaters. They are like investment pieces. Simple, classic, never out of style. Yeah, I agree - I think PINK was when it all started going down hill. I miss drunk shopping VS. :D

It's a consensus then. I'm like your lady, I don't want them as gifts anymore either. And I got a lot of VS gifts! Last year I got some... well you don't need to know about my unmentionables. :D Anyway, not soft and comfy anymore, just stiff and scratchy. :(
