The way I believe it is going to play out is that State Nullification will force the Constitutional showdown. They are attacking the 1A and 2A. That will be addressed and we'll then know our course of action.
We either win those challenges or the Convention of States becomes necessary. I'm going to start working towards that end and joining the existing efforts. A CoS has risks, but I think we've got the numbers to do it right (and repeal the 17th).
If that fails, we are out of options. Secession = Civil War.
