You wouldn't be one paycheck away from homelessness if they didn't tax the shit out of it. Also, learn some responsibility (stupid cunt).

Or create a labor glut with millions of unskilled immigrants added every year.

56
NotAPuma 56 points ago +60 / -4

Maybe you shouldn't be buying the newest IPhone every year and save some money?

35
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 35 points ago +35 / -0

Probably has a bunch of tats as well. The locals losers in my town who are constantly begging for money usually have a few thousand dollars worth of ink.

18
CDXX 18 points ago +18 / -0

This is something that comes up all the time.

We probably all know people like this. These are the people that make enough money to live comfortably, but insist they are poor when they have the newest phone every year, 5-6 streaming services, a new car, designer clothes, an overpriced apartment, eat out everyday, covered with tattoos, smoke weed and go out drinking all the time.

If you actually have some discipline and ethics, you can live a pretty damn good life in this country. That may not be the case once Joe gets gone with it, but as of now you can make something for yourself.

novaks47 9 points ago +9 / -0

Don't forget needless debt! Those types always have tons of debt, gotta finance those new cars and other stuff they don't need, then complain about all those evil lenders! They always bitch about debt, while making zero effort to pay it down, while pissing away money on useless crap or unessacery outings.

1
PantsJihad 1 point ago +1 / -0

This drives me fucking nuts. I make good money, but I live like I'm poor, only splurging once in a while and ONLY when I can afford to pay cash. Result is that when something I really want comes along, I can afford to buy it without having to comtemplate "the Ramen diet" for a month to do so.

This isn't fucking rocket science, its called budgeting and living within your means. Do they not teach personal finance in schools anymore? When I was in the USMC it was literally one of the first MCU modules you were required to complete.

2
CDXX 2 points ago +2 / -0

Shit no they don’t teach anything worthwhile in most schools. I graduated in 2002 and the only thing I leaned finance wise was how to balance a check book in home ec during middle school.

Luckily I had parents who taught me some real things about money management. I still fucked up here and there, but I am in good shape these days.

But yeah, like you I hold out for most things. If I buy something I spend money on the best version as possible and those are the ones that will last.

I will spend 5x more on something well made as opposed to buying a cheap Chinese price of shit 5x over. But hey, it’s just common sense to me. Others not so much. Our reliance on cheap Chinese shit is killing us.

4
slytherin 4 points ago +4 / -0

And they always have a dog and are smoking weed. Like, dude... I don't even have a pet because I know it's expensive to take care of another life. And weed ain't cheap either.

Inflation counts. That's still paying homage to the bankers whether you like it or not.

18
zillat 18 points ago +19 / -1

These low rates have a hidden cost, that is causing people to not save and plan for the future. In the 1930's during the great dustbowl, people were able to survive for years under incredibly harsh conditions without moving, this idiot is ruined if she breaks a bone.

15
King5150 15 points ago +15 / -0

this idiot is apparently 1 flat tire away from spiraling into homelessness. Perhaps she should have not purchased all those really pricey weed bags with colorful names like "the reaper" stuck on them.

12
Awilen 12 points ago +12 / -0

The flat tire one really baffles me.

Don't you have "the latest IPhone" to call your boss and explain the situation with? And a spare tire you can replace your flat one with? And a mechanic nearby who will shove a rubber strip in the flat for a small fee?

I had to explain to my boss once that a jug of used motor oil I needed to get rid of spilled in the trunk and I'd be late. Very late. I didn't lose my job over that.

At this point it's just willful ignorance. Or you don't have a car to begin with. Do you want a Bidencar? I mean, Obamaphones were a thing so...

8
ModernKnight 8 points ago +8 / -0

Or has so consistently pissed off her employer and been so consistently late that he told her "One more time and you're fired. Being an hour late 3 days a week for a part time job is unacceptable."

3
R-A-T-S- 3 points ago +3 / -0

There was a lot that you could do in the 1930s that you can't do today.

1
zillat 1 point ago +1 / -0

^True, also on the tire thing, people should be saving up to buy extra tires, not living on their last tire, prices for tires are going to go up (and for some of these cars (audi, bmw, etc.) these libs buy they are going to go up alot more)

2
R-A-T-S- 2 points ago +2 / -0

Course its not so much the tire, the car getting damaged or something like that, you can't just always fix the stuff on the car yourself anymore. Everything is getting so automated that you have to have a bunch of specialized equipment to be able to get the car to actually work these days. Like Taxes, where things start to get so needlessly complicated that you have to go to someone to do your taxes, so you know how much you owe the government for the permission to exist.

5
Awilen 5 points ago +6 / -1

Inflation is dependent on both base cash volume and the speed at which cash changes hands.

Despite 60% of current $US having been printed in 2020, inflation hasn't set in yet because people don't spend as much, reducing the speed at which cash changes hand (roughly went down 50%).

We are currently in a frail balance where deflation and inflation are at odds, and central banks are carefully leveling the deflation with the bill printing presses.

With that said, inflation will rear its ugly head once "cash speed" returns to pre-pandemic levels. We are sitting on a ticking timebomb.

5
War_Hamster 5 points ago +5 / -0

After the 2009 Financial Crisis, I had discussions about "bi-flation":

Inflation in everything you owe, deflation in everything you own.

This scenario today is different for many reasons, and inflation is inevitable even without velocity.

Real inflation is already happening (food pricers, gas, etc), even if the miserable measurements like CPI don't indicate it yet.

The only thing I have debt on is my house. I own my cars, phones, food, toys, camera, computers and laptops, car parts, literally everything but my house. I don't owe money on shit. And despite being an electrical apprentice, have plenty house payments saved up to last a pretty good time, after having fully remodeled my house myself. I can sell it and have made a decent profit, not be in a single penny in debt, and have plenty money saved up until the great reset.

3
brotatofarmer 3 points ago +4 / -1

Many immigrants scrimped and saved in order to attain financial security, my own parents included. Now I work with low income girls who complain about financial trouble while paying for eyelash extensions, buying Kylie Jenner trash products, buying iphones & watches, buying Starbucks regularly. I call these the fake-poors.

7

Nobody is here to protect you especially Government.

Thinking that someone is supposed to come save you is stupid.

People thinking that they are entitled to anything is ludicrous.

Freedom is being able to make your own choices.

19
OperationWetback 19 points ago +22 / -3

Is it though?

If traitor RINOs that have been selling America to China set up a system where your vote does not matter and your jobs are both going overseas while they import all types of illegals and H1Bs into the country to drive wages down...

Is that really freedom? Do you feel like you live in a free country?

Really? That tweet may be stupid... but I don't think it is as stupid as you think it is.

Then make more fucking money.

Stop blowing cash on vegan food, take out, delivery, stupid shit on Amazon, and other bullshit.

Budget yourself better. Build credit. Don't live outside your means. Don't live in an expensive city and work a job that pays you shit. Don't buy a brand fucking new 2022 electric car knowing your payments are going to be 300+ a month, plus full coverage insurance. Stop buy worthless apps on your phone. Stop upgrading your phone every year.

There are SEVERAL solutions.

The guy is a bit of a twerp, but...

Healthcare, gas, and other stuff IS too damn expensive. (And we shipped our manufacturing jobs overseas)

*This is precisely why we elected Trump

20
Seruna_Kanus 20 points ago +20 / -0

And Why we loved Trump toward the end of 2019, life was looking significantly better across the board so the left rebranded the common cold and flu and forced everyone into worklessness and stress enough that people felt powerless, then they dropped Floyd on us.

7
flopperdog 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm a believer in these upcoming audits. (Especially Arizona)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWE9rGFcy6o

2.1million ballots will be examined, and counted by a team of 120 people.

*When the audit's finished in ~2months, it's going to be explosive. (~10,000 votes needed to flip AZ)

Then, there's Georgia and Wisconsin.

*Have skepticism, but there are good things coming.

13
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 13 points ago +13 / -0

The reason all of those things are so expensive is because of government fuckery. These leftist retards want to solve it with...more government fuckery.

8
flopperdog 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yeah, their "solutions" are retarded. ("Have rich people pay moar taxes into our bloated social programs and institutions")

But many of the problems are real. (My Grandpa could work part-time to easily pay for college)

The allure of socialism is tempting because the socialists in charge have fucked up capitalism. A lot of people need to realise this. They might not be as big hard by it but for a lot of people what you have tondo to get ahead and the opportunities available for a basic minimal standard of living are dwindling.

Socialist leaders love to let capitalism fail and break it to steer people into their arms. You need to come to this level of understanding to fight them. Of course either way they draw people to them who are malcontent or entirely responsible for their lack of prosperity. Be careful not to get the two confused.

When you vote socialists into power to make sure nothing goes wrong with things like capitalism they do the opposite. If it's broken the last thing they'll do is fix it. Instead they'll offer you an alternative, socialism. If you try to fixed it they'll stop you.

Always think twice before voting in socialists. Their intention is to always make capitalism seem so bad that even socialism looks good by comparison. Having socialists run a capitalism system simply doesn't work.

They could get some cheap land, build a small house on it and live without all of the unnecessary shit they think they "need".

Have no mortgage and be debt free in their early twenties.

But they don't want to be financially stable, they want to be like the "influencers" they see on the internet. Who keep tags on their clothes to return them after one wear and post pictures in front of cars that arent theirs on instagram to cultivate the illusion they are much more successful and happy than reality.

20
Benwa1985 20 points ago +21 / -1

I literally did this. Got some land, built a small house. Mortgage payments well within my means. Paying it off very early. 36 years old, 2 kids and debt free besides mortgage and definitely not 1 blown tire away from homelessness. Gain a trade and live within your means and you'll never be broke again.

9
Somalia_is_gay 9 points ago +10 / -1

Nah big disagree. With all the immigrants artificially lowering wages people have a reason to complain. You want low cost housing? Well have fun, you'll have black neighbors and high crime. Would you want to raise children in a migrant infested area? Secondly, not everyone is intelligent enough to make lots of money. Going into the future, even if you are, wages will plummet due to population spikes and visas.

7
jomten 7 points ago +7 / -0

Armchair economist here, but thats another problem caused by government im afraid.

There is no job shortage. Thats government bullshit 101. If there is work to be done, there is no job shortage. Because there will always be work that could be done, there will never be a job shortage.

The government just stepped in and said unless your work is worth some arbitrary amount of make believe dollars, you cant work.

Also, unless you meet all these prohibitively expensive regulations, you can’t just “employ” yourself and create things of value. So the entire frame of having a limited job pool is a symptom of government fuckery rather than an economic “truth”.

Low income housing? We literally used to make our own houses. See if you can find the old foxfire books about the Appalachian people, they actually show the whole process with pictures.

We don’t need “lots of money” to be healthy, functioning, productive members of society. We need the access to work for as much as we NEED, and the freedom to work for as much as we WANT.

Equity is for fags.

5
KingSweyn 5 points ago +5 / -0

Saying "there's not enough money" is like saying "there's not enough inches". It's not an issue of the financial system it's an issue of the people running it.

5

Yeah some, actually most, christians completely misrepresent what Jesus actually stood for and preached. Lots of cherry picking whatever bible verse fits their agenda.

Jesus went to the criminals. He spent time with the murderers, the prostitutes, the tax collectors, because they needed the most help.

Not that we shouldn’t judge people based on their actions, but we should attempt to reach out to them and bring them out of whatever self-destructive cycle they are in.

Leftist policies/big government/high taxes are the reasons why the wealth gap continues to get worse. “Gimme dat” only creates a widening gap. Influx of illegal immigration joining the workforce depresses wages and kills the American worker (supply and demand is ecom 101). AZ cracked down on illegal immigration years ago and guess what? The wealth gap narrowed.

She does kinda have a point. We have a gaping hole in our economy where manufacturing jobs used to be. Jobs that used to provide a middle class existence for families. Now they’re gone, and a large portion of our workforce has to settle for lesser paying jobs where they’re competing with illegals and other non-skilled workers.

Lots of these people’s expectations are also way too high, because what they don’t tell you in college is that the American Dream takes time, and you have to work hard for it. Even after going to college.

If you’re lucky or extremely talented you might find early success, but that’s not most people. Most people don’t get to the big bucks until later in their careers, once they have the experience to justify it.

Maybe this is more personal to me because I’ve been in a position where I had to declare bankruptcy because of medical bills. In my case we had no medical insurance because the economy sucked, I was working temp jobs, and my wife needed an emergency appendectomy. 18 hours later they discharged her from the hospital. When we got the bill a week later, for $24K, we about shit ourselves.

The worst part is we were so broke we couldn’t even afford the lawyer to go bankrupt. It took us a year to pay him his retainer to file the paperwork.

PraiseBeToScience 2 points ago +2 / -0

It helps if you don't brainlessly support collectivist legislation that decouples the services you want from competition and accountability just because the fuckstains promoting it used emotional rhetoric that could not stand up to any sort of actual cross examination.....and then end up shocked that the costs have skyrocketed out of your reach without signing your soul away to insurance middlemen whose business model profits by using any excuse they can for not providing the service paid for.

I’m in my 20s and I have savings.

Stop buying stuff and save money!

Learn how to grow wealth and you would not be in that position. Learn how to spend less money.

Want financial freedom? learn how to invest in stocks or invest in real estate. (though don't rent houses out, people don't have to pay rent anymore).

Having government give you money every month isn't freedom, it makes you a slave to the goverment because you have to do what the goverment says in order to get that money.

Wouldn't surprise me if this person didn't even know how to change his own tire anyway if it did blow out.

Get an old car and pay it off. Keep your phone longer. Go to a thrift store. Don’t buy the latest shit. Cut off your cable. Get free education to better your skill set (they have courses). Network at church / other places you frequent. Get off the internet? There is always a way. Fack change your name to something Hispanic and get free shit and free housing and say you were abused and get more free shit. (/s)

I know a solution: let's import hoardes of people to compete in the labor market, run shitty public schools that leave kids with no job skills at graduation, monopolize the medical system so they can buy out the regulatory bodies and crush out competition,

Ooh ooh, what else?

You also have the freedom to work harder and smarter to avoid a life like that. I grew up poor as hell, my hand me downs were hand me downs from multiple generations. Came out on top.

No that is freedom. The freedom of your bad stupid choices. You don't want to be one paycheck away from ruin save fucking money!!!!

I have enough stored to last me at least 3 years should anything happen that makes me incapable of earning a paycheck, which quite frankly would only be death so it's a bit redundant.

I am fully insured to cover those insane medical costs induced by Obamacare and on demand private healthcare. I have a spare tire. I drink my fucking milk like a good white supremacist.

Freedom is not being caught when you decide to do something stupid and not being held back by clawing government when you succeed.

I'm old enough to remember that before government got involved, we paid the doctor ourselves and had insurance for the "big stuff."

That system worked just fine. Before government got involved (to belabor the point).

The problem these people have with freedom Is it also requires self sufficient and the ability to fail. Not everyone can be a winner in a capitalist meritocracy. Therefore anyone on the bottom of the socio-economic hierarchy sees no benefit to their freedom. Whether they are conscious of it or not, they are admitting that they cannot succeed on their own so they are willing to hand their lives over to someone else to let them run it.

A small setback wouldn't make you homeless if it weren't for this.

This may be a controversial take but maybe having many people being one paycheck away from homelessness and having an opportunity to improve through intelligence and hard work is better than everyone being mandated to poverty through communism.

If you're not financially stable find someone online or in your life that is and ask for help. Don't ask him for money ask them to teach you how to budget.

One change will make you more financially sound figure out how much disposable income you have and decide how to spend it.

Just a simple Act of knowing how much disposable income you have, and budgeting it could change your life.

Live deliberately.

Maybe you have the freedom to not live your life that way? Quit spending half your money on drugs

Seruna_Kanus 1 point ago +1 / -0

I used to live real close to that kinda situation, I somehow got into drugs which made it worse. Eventually I cleaned up, found a better place to live and found a better job. 2020 was one of my best years even with Lockdown conditions, and 2021 is looking to be a bit better unless Biden finds a way to fuck up TX enough for TX to no longer be worth living in.
