There is a false dichotomy between two racist pseudoscientific narratives being spread, both of which are based on faulty underlying assumptions. ‘Critical Race Theory’ is fundementally based on the idea that people’s individual attributes and efforts are not reflected in their life outcomes, while James Watson's theories on racial ancestry and cognitive ability (IQ) are based on the idea that cognitive ability can be realistically defined and accurately measured by IQ tests without the method of measurement unduly influencing the very definition such that the scale becomes meaningless.
Of the two, Watson is more theoretically sound, because there is at least some scientific process involved to criticize and improve upon; however, his research conclusions are little more than a flawed stepping stone that is already turned into a stumbling block.
