As if picking up the package it came in and reading where it specifically states that it does not protect against covid isn't enough. I get the impression that councils like these are the mechanism by which "politics are downstream from culture" functions. They take popular opinions from all over the place including uninformed idiots screaming in the streets and funnel it up to legislation. I don't know if we're supposed to consider these people leaders of any sort but since they're part of the machine they should be putting some effort into building a more functional society and not just bending to any and all social pressures.
