Louis Rossmann, the based tech repair guy from NYC, is fundraising money for a direct ballot initiative for Right to Repair. In a nutshell, Right to Repair would be a massive blow to the Big Tech monoliths. Yeah the fundraising is on GoFundMe, but this is a big issue we can all support.

Explain right to repair please? NVM. Looked it up. Reminds me when my iPhone needed a new screen the home button was not OEM due to “security reasons” I was like Fack Apple!
It was probably a fingerprint reader on your iPhone and they do that by design since it's a security thing.
The battery on the other hand, is bullshit.

And sure, he might not be a Trump guy, but he's center right and consistently calls out the democrat Marxist bureaucrats in NYC, and he did a lot of commentary on the Burn Loot Murder riots and how they were destroying the city's safety and economy. If you have money to spare, donate to Louis' campaign to fight Big Tech and pass right to repair in NY.
I like Louis, I really do, even if he doesn't like Trump (I think he's a libertarian or a classic Liberal).
But I don't see him getting the money needed to overcome Apple, Samsung, LG, Google.
You have to lobby for this shit and you know they're going to smear Right to Repair and they have unlimited funds in which to do it. I've heard you need something like 5-20 MILLION dollars to get something like this the attention it needs to get it on the bill and the attention is needs to actually stand a chance at passing.
That's an UNREAL amount of money and you have tech fucking GIANTS going against you because they don't want to have to hand over their line drawings. And they're willing to spend whatever it takes to make sure Right to Repair doesn't happen. Insurance companies (Asurion) also have a vested interest in making sure Right to Repair dies on the vine too since they own the fucking chain repair shops in towns.
This also doesn't stop Taiwan companies from entering into agreements with Apple to not sell their components to anyone BUT Apple. So even if you have the drawings, you can't get the parts to solder because they won't fucking sell them to you. So you need donor boards. Which, usually means you have to wait for a product to be out for about a year or two before donor boards become a thing and you can afford them in any kind of bulk to get what you need to fix shit. And since people pay premium to fix new shit, your window to maximize profits are when they come out. Not 2 years after they come out.
Yeah it’s definitely an uphill battle, which is why he’s requesting $6 million in this gofundme. It’s been up for a day and it’s only at $50k. He’s got a looooooongggg way to go, which is why I shared it here, hoping fellow techie Pedes with some spare cash would chip in
