mother. However, I look for this to change eventually as some blue state (probably California) will have a judge who sees things differently. What sane person would think a seven-year-old knows what he/she wants? Plus, I can see some far left, crazy liberal judge ruling in favor of a child who wants to “divorce” his parents so he/she could make an asinine decision like this. (Remember years ago when a kid tried to divorce his parents?)

I'm not sure that people with some chromosome combination other than standard are born with genitalia of both sexes. So I looked it up:

https://interactadvocates.org/faq/#advice

Info Judges are likely to consider claims that 1 in 1,666 was the estimate for these chromosomes in 2008, for all US births from 1955 - 1998. Those years saw 1 out of 2000 births (.05%) with what you're calling hermaphroditism. The preferred term used for well over a decade is "intersex," because it's not possible to have fully developed genitalia of both sexes.

Those numbers are only estimates which tells me records weren't really kept.

There are stories of said surgery being done without advice or consent from parents, but I don't know if that's true either. It seems to me that this is the only legitimate concern about "rights" on the topic. This should never affect anybody else! It's unconscionable to me that anyone other than the parents should be making those decisions, but apparently in these situations a specialist is called in.

I understand the desire to spare parents the anguish in such cases. Is it time to move past that? The source of this info says only the individual should make the decision for surgery, which is apparently where children making decisions comes from. They also have motive to inflate their "estimates," which they haven't revised since 2008. And they still use that one study that ended with births in 1998.

Regulatory capture, the long march through the institutions, or whatever else you want to call it, the patients are trying to take over the asylum. They also claim that more people are born each year that don't present as "intersex" at birth than those that do. This leaves no upper limit for how many to suspect, and any child a target for predators. Of course they claim nobody should get "unnecessary surgery," but the people advising what's necessary are the monsters in this notorious TX case in your OP.

If they're true to their claims they will advocate for not pressuring anyone into surgery. Which means pretending to be the sex of one parent's choice, hormone blockers, and whatever else they can come up with should be their expected tactics.

We should know what we're up against: it's the apparent bogosity of these people's claims.

So we are on the same page then.

Prolly so. We just need to be armed with the same information the other side has. Seems to me their lunacy is easy to discover. Which means we have to expect it will elude the Courts and law makers.

Cutting through the noise so law makers get a clear picture will take some effort, but the future is at stake.

This brainwashing of children has been going on for decades. No respect for teachers, parents and others. When I was in school parents supported the teachers and the school system. You sometimes got sent to the principal’s office and it wasn’t always for a little chat. And when you got home you got more of the same. I have lived long enough to see a deterioration in each generation. A lot of it is the parents’ faults; but the schools, especially college professors, are basically teaching communism, Marxism and a lot of other ‘isms”. My son hasn’t been out of college that long and he called teachers flat out on feminist and SJW crap. His reward? Often a grade he didn’t deserve.
