It's not, and I'm seriously looking into a sat phone now that their costs are about the same as a smart phone.

Thought same thing when a restaurant wanted me to do 'contactless payment' by scanning a qr code on receipt. What if someone like my 80 y/o smartphoneless mother had that surprise sprung on her? So they can touch the silverware, glasses and dishes I just ate off of, but they don't wanna touch my debit card...
