They built "project housing" in and around the neighborhood starting in the late 1970s causing all the local businesses to close due to crime, which resulted in everyone moving away in mass, which resulted in all the homes becoming section 8 rentals.

The neighborhood became a crime ridden shithole and has remained one ever since.

My parents were elderly and wouldn't/couldn't move and start over. Unfortunately they lost their lives in the most horrific way to a home invasion back in 2012.

They forced all us students to attend schools based on zip code which resulted in everyone attending schools in the ghetto that were 90% or more black. This resulted in a best case scenario of not getting an education - and being raped, beaten or murdered at worst. I ended up with a GED because I had PTSD due to all the violence I experienced. It persists to this day.

I watched liberals destroy an entire living breathing community.

Now I see Biden and the leftists expanding on these policies. I know what's coming because I've already lived through it once before. I won't go through it again.

One of the most important things I don’t hear talked about enough is school choice. Jim Justice is kicking ass in West Virginia but it needs to be a thing everywhere. There are some great teachers in the public school system, but the public school system itself is trash and forcing children into and through it is a waste of their potential. It also perpetuates situations like you described regardless of their capabilities. Waste of human potential. Inefficient.

How about instead of school choice, we shut down every single government school, disband the department of miseducation, and tell parents that they can figure out how to teach their kids to read without taxing their neighbors to pay for it.

Easy enough to do. If 10 families pool their tax savings they can hire a dedicated private tutor for their kids.
