I dont get how populism makes him a "weak leader" in the eyes of China, populism means he follows what the people wants. I think creating a vaccine in 9 months shows he knew how to solve the problem as quick as possible and did great things despite fauci advising against his decisions such as shutting down travel to China (really, the most important one in the beginning).
It was a smear campaign regardless and we know the dems were in bed with China to release something like this
