I don’t think it can be made to happen...... to be purposefully incited.
When/if it does happens, it will be a groundswell, and cause hell on earth until one side loses.
That being said, I am not convinced that the next war will be a shooting war, at least not in the continental US, between US citizens.
The more likely scenario is a foreign power somehow overcoming one of our coasts, and the powers that be inside the continental US realigning themselves in a common threat against the intruding enemy. In this scenario, I would expect at least some of the population to align themselves w/the foreign power, which will probably be communist. They will offer huge incentives to defectors, so in that sense it would be American vs American.
Anyway, just my two cents. Any blow-up here anywhere between Left and Right will easily be stopped and never move outside the cities.
It would take something so UnGodly, so unimaginable, and so unbelievable to cause every person to rise up at the same time from all corners of the US. To imagine how bad that something must be, to incite such a thing, I hope it never happens.
