The argument against reparations is much stronger than relating it to welfare.
Welfare is disproportionately given to blacks and paid for by white when you factor in the % of the population. About 40% of welfare recipients are black, who are about 15% of the population. About 40% are white, but they are 70% of the population. Ergo, a much higher % of blacks use welfare.
But the mental gymnastics required to assert that black Americans living today are somehow due repayment for anything that happened hundreds of years ago, or that slavery which was conducted by ALL races of people around the globe INCLUDING BLACKS can historically be rectified by sending a bill only to white Americans, who were the first to END SLAVERY, is mind boggling.
Will they be sending a bill to their African cousins who gathered them up and sold them to the slave traders?
