...if heavily Conservative Oregon counties+Minnesota counties secede and join smaller states like Idaho and South Dakota?
There's even talk of Washington counties doing something similar.
Fraud might not even matter if we can pull that off.
Doesn't mean we should stop pushing for voting reform of course, just that we may have a backup plan.
Any plan based on this scenario is a waste of time, this isn't happening. Why? Because a Democrats majority House wouldn't approve it, and that's a requirement for that to happen.
Bingo. These movements are mostly about sending a message to their state politicians.
I've become a big fan of Tactical Civics' Bring Congress Home proposal, to shrink legislative districts, which I think would be a better solution than reassigning counties to different states.
What if we take the House majority in 2022 due to gerrymandering tho? This change wouldn't even be truly useful until the 2024 presidential race.
I just think that's the least likely scenario. I would focus on becoming a republican committeeman and make the change from within, and seek out offices you can hold. All you need to do is ask the county party if there are any vacancies and they will tell you how to join.
I don't see a Conservative ever winning the White House again at this point. Just saying. The Dems are doing everything they can to never let that happen.
