It's a big step to realize that some people will sacrifice almost anything for power period. Not even the power to control xyz or to accomplish something......just the power to push and control.
That and the "why would they lie", for the dumbest most petty reasons you can imagine thats why, and it only has to make sense to THEM, it doesn't have to work or be logical.
