In contact contact other tribes, they would backstab, betray, and generally shit on people that weren't like them. They tried to do it with the European. Didn't turn out so well. The natives that hate the reservations only need to thank their ancestors.
The Apache were particularly savage. Texans exterminated them because they survived purely on raiding, and that meant raping and pillaging in the frontier.
