Indeed. One of my ancestors was a British merchant, trading between Britain and the Virginia colony. He had a Cherokee family on the side. His British family complained about how much time he was spending in the colony, so they moved there. The Cherokee family (and friends) attacked their homestead, and stole my other ancestor (the merchant's son), raised him as their own, and had him help in future attacks. He also ate his adopted uncle.

That's a helluva family story.... seems we both agree that the Native contribution to American culture and life is.... (hmmm strokes chin) just about zippo!
