(to be honest, I gave up on the Star Wars franchise ever since Rise Of The Mary Sue came out. Seriously, the prequels were bad enough. Mind, I saw the first Star Wars movie - A New Hope - in person, in the theaters, when it first came out in early 1977.)
The overall plotline of the rise of the Empire was fine to good even. I think what most people didn't like about the prequels was stuff like the clunky acting, clunky directing, and some very annoying characters (Jar Jar).
