I'm about 1/3 of the way through it. Not a lot of story building, but all the competent and "badass" characters seem to be female. Outside of that, it seems fairly typical for a Godzilla movie. Not horrible, but also not great.
Better than Captain Marvel, but it's because they replaced story-building and character arcs with monster fighting. So, less cringey.
Just thought I'd share if anyone was trying to decide on whether or not to watch it.
I thought this was a great popcorn movie.
Besides Female leads, they left the Woke out of this movie. I only caught one reference and it was kinda funny when the fat kid from Deadpool was talking about having to attend a class at school about looking at conspiracy theory material on the internet.
I also caught an interview with Millie Bobby Brown describing the black guy’s character saying that he is a total conspiracy theorist so he’s really smart.
