The Constitution actually personified slaves for the first time, even if it was only 3/5 of a citizen, and just for the purposes of representation. But still, that was wildly progressive for the 1700s, when slaves were just considered property.

The left has such a fucked up view of the world. Everything has to be negative. They completely lack the ability to look at history through the lens of the culture at the time, they just assume it was always 2020.

The 3/5 law, the 13th amendment, wasn't in the original documentation. I'm not sure it could even be used as an argument for racism, because it was ratified in 1866. So it is no longer valid (and was only valid for less than 100 years).
