Pretty sure you can't do that judge. The internet isn't something the government owns to ban you from

Judges issuing gag orders is actually quite common, even though you could certainly argue that such orders violate the first amendment.

Gag orders are unconstitutional. Charge all judges who issue them with title 18 section 242.

Oh wait thats right, the judicial installed themselves into the grand jury process so they have control over who gets charged.

Gag orders on the matters in a case regarding the involvement of 2 other parties. General ban of all media use is however impossible.

A gag order may stop someone from commenting about certain subjects, but not viewing or using the internet in general

5
Taylor3006 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah I get the judge issuing a gag order but doesn't that just mean talking about the case itself? I mean banning her from internet use is strange and can not see how that is even legal.

Reminds me of my days in the military. Hollywood hates people downloading torrents for movies off the internet. Meanwhile we would share and copy gigs upon gigs from external hard drives.

23
Tokyo20DrinkingGame 23 points ago +24 / -1

Back when Netflix was DVD-only, I'd get the 3-at-a-time deal and rip them in a day and send them back. Lather, rinse, repeat. In college, I'd take requests from others too, and they would donate beer/liquor, loose change, and tips and stuff for my effort (even though it was a few clicks; they didn't know that...they thought I was cracking the Matrix or successfully dividing by zero or something). I had several hundred DVDs, all alphabetized and catalogued. Had a sign-out sheet and everything, and surprisingly, most folks were good about returning them.

Before that, about 30 people in my dorm got together on one particularly late night and decided we'd set up a workgroup and have everyone share their music folders. It eventually grew to about 250 people. I discovered so many good artists that way. Can't believe that never got shut down; proof that we were probably a couple steps ahead of the rather barebones network security teams at the time.

8
Caliprisoner 8 points ago +8 / -0

It's a fickle thing. Technically prison is the "restrict from access" tool.

If you're going to ban someone from using what many democrats consider to be a "fundamental right" then we have some serious societal issues.

Inc rant feel free to ignore

They tap the ISPs and run exit nodes FYI. They also have international cooperation to do the same.

This isn’t so relevant in this instance just sharing that nothing is entirely secure over the internet. Your monitor, mouse, and keyboard even produce signal that can be intercepted and analyzed.

They can find people by any kind of signal, anywhere. The capabilities are truly scary. Iraq and Afghanistan didn’t even see the real advanced stuff...

The ability to analyze signal is limited by 3 things - Processing power, electrical power, capture. All of these are improving rapidly and becoming more mobile.

Technically, it is possible to know when a fly takes a shit by EM signal. It is possible to understand the composition of that shit by EM signal. One day this will be possible.. idk what fucking genius made Star Trek, but tricordors / remote scanners are closer to inevitable than merely plausible.

3

2

These EM don’t go in the tcp packet, do they?

2
DisbandTheCIA 2 points ago +2 / -0

That depends on how you conceptualize a packet.

A packet is a way of understanding network protocols and data flow.

The EM signal is the physical layer of communication. Packets can be intercepted on any physical layer.

its very simple to enforce. Police check on her, her accounts, her phone, any internet providers to her her house and if she is found to have used any of it, she is found guilty of violating a court order which is a separate crime, which by the way carries no maximum. Judges can do anything like this and there are no legal limits on their power.

That’s nonsense though, it wasn’t so long ago that the USA was openly anti-communist, now you are ruled by them.

21
wiombims 21 points ago +21 / -0

Openly anti communist yet advancing the "european model of socialism" under the surface the whole time. We were just born in this time period and have little experiential understanding of what was happening. It should have been a tip-off to us that the openly violent communists went to ground but that was covered by this period of normalcy where, like you said, the USA was openly anti-communist. Not so openly, the left was filling every deepstate, education, etc position they could. Consider this: while we were "openly anti-communist", EVERYONE's kids were being fed propaganda about McCarthy. That should tell you that that it's not a nonsense argument at all. Ask a "conservative" today about McCarthy and you'll get some version of "we shouldn't treat people that way even if he was right" ... at best. You're more likely to get a "well, mccarthyism is bad, we're better than that". More importantly, it was the PC culture that bore fruit. You can be as anti-communist on the surface as you want, the past 20 years has shown us that if you advance PC culture, you'll still end up in the same shit we are today. It's not the surface stuff that matters, it's the deep ingraining of PC culture which shapes thought that eventually gives results. Teaching kids about the horrors of communism does NOTHING if their thought processes are PC. They'll "forget" about the horrors at the blink of an eye and tell you "we won't do that" in the next sentence.

I saw a hilarious twist about an ATF case where some people wanted to help the person out with a crowdfunding thing and contacted the lawyer. The person's lawyer told the accused "we got disturbing phone calls" basically implying death threats and stuff, according to the crowdfunding person. They then contacted the person directly after not being able to reach them any other way. I heard rumors about something similar happening with the Kenosha Kid early on. You're not too far off. Once you're in the hot-seat, it's easy to get isolated and left helpless in the system.

Ya. That’s total bullshit. Why would she not be allowed online? How could she be unable to help her defense?

13
wiombims 13 points ago +13 / -0

Denying her defense in the public eye. Robert Barnes believes it's a lawyer's duty to defend their client in both the court of law and the court of public opinion. He claims it's a concept the courts have recognized even though they have discretion to press the scales in one direction or another. This is one of the reasons people become judges and benefit from the bench (imo, not saying everyone, same argument can be made with any position of power).

This article is worth reading just for its craziness. Apparently she agreed to this to stay out of jail for the time being: "The defendant asked for it. Her lawyer saw it as one of the few bargaining chips the Capitol riot suspect from California had to stay out of jail for now."

Then we have Riley Williams, who is accused of helping steal Pelosi's laptop although no one can find it. "After prosecutors warned that Williams might use the internet to destroy evidence such as social media postings and direct others to do the same, he ruled that she must stay off the internet and use only a flip phone to make necessary calls. But then came the question of whether Williams could even watch TV. A prosecutor at the hearing pointed out that smart TVs can access the web. The judge noted even some refrigerators are now connected online. A back-and-forth ensued over how Williams might be able to watch television while awaiting trial. It lasted a while. There was chatter about the Netflix app.

The judge finally ruled that Williams could watch television under the supervision of her mother, and that tapping into the device’s web function could send her right back to jail.

This is NUTS.

These are SHITTY defense awyers. They should be seeking dismissal of all charges on Fourteenth Amendment protections for equal treatment under the law. The rioters who vandalized the fencing around the White House, even setting the guard house on fire and compelling the Trump family to bunker down or flee the estate were not arrested, charged, or prosecuted for their crimes---and a concentrated, coordinated large group effort to breach the White House IS an act of insurrection. I would instruct my defense attorney to file for criminal dismissal, and then turn around and sue the government in civil court for constitutional torts involving Fourteenthh Amendment violations and malicious and arbitrary prosecution...

Citing Yuri Bezmenov's warning of Communist insurrection from over a decade ago..They're complete in their mission . They've infiltrated our schools, our governement..just all of our scared institutions at every level. He did not say how to correct it...though, I think we all know that there is only one way..

Can't even check email? Give me a break just using a phone's basic features uses the internet. Her security camera uses the internet. People pay bills via internet. This judge is stupid- just another evil powergrab.

The internet should descend upon this judges house. En masse. No bullshit. This is a First Amendment violation, not to mention how much business must be done on the internet these days per draconian wuflu restrictions.

Time to make judges understand that it's not a simple wave of a pen when they give a court order or sign a warrant. If they are doing crazy shit, they need to be scared. SCARED.

Why? What could she possibly do on the internet? Seems mighty draconian.

Organize a riot that will overthrow the gubmint, clearly! You're looking at the face of highly intelligent, highly organized, highly capable evil. Ima be honest with you, you know that movie where the cia guy kills everyone from his prison cell? That was based on the peyote vision quest of what this lady would do in the future. Wake up! /s

I wanna ask what bill of right arguments can be used against this, but then I remember that this is Current Year and we are outlaws in our own nation for existing.

How is this not a First Amendment violation?

21stCenturyPatriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ha! FREEDOM OF SPEECH. The judge is obviously over stepping his authority because there’s no reason for a gag order, and what about all the other things done on the internet.

This is not uncharted waters. This happened to me in 2014 for reading the wrong minds on facebook while drunk.

I no longer drink, or course. I did not even drink back then. It was my birthday party prior to that & I let people talk me into it. Besides, we have kids now & Trump reinforced a lot of my upbringing.

This is the equivalent of a gag order, and as she is innocent until proven guilty, the judge is totally out of line.

Sentencing her to a lifetime of happiness and freedom from anxiety and depression?

4
QuickMaths 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah thats a lawsuit waiting to happen. Pretty sure the United Nations considers internet access a human right (not that I care what those corrupt fucks have to say but lets use them against our enemy), so they’re violating her human rights according to globalist rules.

Tryan 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm guessing that judge has communist penis breath.

3
BurtMcGirt 3 points ago +3 / -0

That is the type of thing that happens under authoritarian Communist regimes.
