Ok what in the hell does special operations need a diversity and inclusion person? That is insanity. Especially in spec ops. These guys don't fuck about, and it sounds like a sure fire way to disaster.
What so funny/ironic is that spec ops is probably the most diverse community within any of the military branches. They look for operators who can blend in in these foreign countries. You're not going to see many 6 ft, blonde hair, blue eyed special forces guys. It's a lot of guys who can pass for hispanic/latino and middle eastern.
I think I'd actually be a little scared if they start recruiting more "can't blend in anywhere but the US" white guys.
It's not the actual diversity that's the problem, it's that it's forced. People in spec ops especially should be there by way of merit. Not because you're whatever race or gender to fill a quota.
If the community or team needs a role to be filled, they should be able to draw from the very top performing candidates, not whatever idiot is forced on them because "yay diversity, we're so woke"

I agree with you, 100%. I was just pointing out that by nature of what they do, they end up being a most diverse community, without even trying.
