Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was prepared to plead guilty to third-degree murder in George Floyd's death before then-Attorney General William Barr personally blocked the plea deal. Did not see this story, wondering if this is fake news. I find it hard to believe he would fall on his sword. However it is possible they offered a no jail time plea deal.

One, I can't imagine a murder charge that gets plead down to no jail time. And second, why would AG Barr get involved? This should be a state matter. Smells like BS to me.
