Thanks for being rational. Yes, there is a such thing as Canadiana that's been entirely STOMPED out of existence.
"All of us" replacing the sons who fought and died in the anthem, O'Canada. Which was itself a bastardization of our heritage when they decided to STOMP the Maple Leaf Forever. (which correctly associated the nation as united peoples from Scotland, England Ireland and France).
When people shit on 'Canadians' they're lumping Quebecers with Albertans with Hippies in BC with Maritime fishermen to politicians in Ottawa and rugged deep woods lumberjacks 3000kms away..and all kinds of natives/metis/trappers... anyways it infuriates me because it's impossible to try and give our heritage any justice in such a short blurb on the internet. My family was American before America and as British as they come at one point. Every family has an extraordinary story and people love to just generalize/lump everyone/everything together. It's volumes of books to get it done right and who has the time here and now...
Yeah I remember being hammered with propaganda as a kid in public school: "Canada has no culture worth mentioning. We should be thankful for mass immigration and multiculturalism for giving us 'real' culture."

I learned a lot about Canadian culture/heritage in my time w/ the Cadets..
Mostly because I was exposed to veterans.
