For my Christian Patriots - read Luke 22:35-38 today. Thursday of Holy Week is when Jesus told the disciples that if they didn't have a sword, to sell a garment and go buy one.
Jesus didn't tell his followers to go pick a fight, but he did encourage them to have something to protect themselves.

The understanding of almost 2000 years of Christendom was that you ignore stupid insults and provocations from personal enemies.

You don't have to tolerate violations of the Moral Law, such as putting up with open sexual deviancy. The Bible clearly states that Godfearing men - in fact, all Men even Pagans - are required not to tolerate a society that allows gross sins to go unpunished.

Only in the past 100-200 years have Theologians "Suddenly Discovered" that being a Christian meant being utterly passive.

Was Justinian Passive? Saint Boniface? Calvin? Luther? Cromwell?

Calvin, Luther, and Cromwell were all heretics who denied the Truth of the Faith.

Let’s not hold them up as examples of Christian virtue we should seek to imitate.
