The issue with free market people is they seem to think society is based upon economics when society is based upon morality.

Free market people mistakenly adapt their economics beliefs to their moral beliefs and think all forms of morality are equally as valuable such that objective morality doesn't exist. They tend to instead believe in subjective morality rooted in the self, in which all people should be free to act in whatever way they please besides some very basic moral code such as a Non-Aggression Pact.

This always simply leads to a degradation of society. Society must be grounded in a common objective moral code and only then do free markets work because then the way in which people act given their freedom is actually good in nature. Freedom is something only good people deserve and restricting the freedom of evil people is perfectly acceptable.

In a society full of good and evil people and especially in a society where evil outnumbers good, it is vitality important that the government curb people's freedoms such that the outcome ends up being good for the Nation. When it comes to economic policy, less is more, as in the less involved the government is and the less regulation, generally speaking, the better the result but sometimes you do in fact need government regulations, especially when most of society is evil.

The issue with modern society and why free market people want freedom so much is because our society is run by criminals and tyrants that no longer have the interests of the people at heart so any government regulation is almost always evil in nature and therefore bad so evidently, free markets over markets governed by an evil government is always a better outcome.
