I've met a LOT of yankee transplants in Mt. Pleasant, people that have moved down in the last year, and most of them seem like they get it. I had one yankee woman say she's concerned too many yankees are coming down and they better leave their politics behind.
And I never bring up politics because I'm working. I just ask em "what brought you down here" and it leads into a rant about taxes and lockdowns
STILL PISSED they tore down Calhoun's statue. Stupid shit.
I was getting my car's oil changed in North Charleston, so waiting on a bench outside. A car salesman came by and we started talking and I mentioned I was from Long Island. He asked what brought me down here (though I moved down 16 years ago) and I mentioned the high taxes. He thought it was because LI was a tourist destination. Had a good laugh at that. I said of was infested with democrats. He quickly left after that. I wonder why.
Downtown Charleston is expensive for everyone except the hood rats in the projects off Beaufain and America Streets. Felt great paying 1325 for a small ass one bedroom knowing my taxes were helping supplement the criminals smoking weed all day every day.
Charleston for a visit is fantastic. If you like good food and history. It's tourist-y but great. You can visit the old jail that yankees took over (but never found the weapons cache in the basement). And this might sound weird but there are some great ghost tours in the city, too. Not really my thing but it's a great date night, especially if you have a group.
May wanna look into Savanah instead of Myrtle. Myrtle is just so trashy. People say North Myrtle is okay but I don't mess with any of it. I've lived here my whole life and haven't been to Myrtle since high school spring break. Charleston is liberal for locals but you'll love it. Also, go to the battery and take a boat ride out off the coast at sunset with some wine. It's a great tourist destination.
Myrtle Beach is not trash. I am very familiar with that area and it is a great vacation, if you know where to go and what to avoid. I travel there frequently and have yet to have a bad time on the Grand Strand. Like every where else, you just need to focus on what you enjoy doing. We always enjoy Huntington Beach State Park, Myrtle Beach State Park, Brookgreen Gardens, and just hanging out on the beach exploring the piers, walking, going on jet skis and banana boat rides, parasailing...
Yes. Until they get a new mayor and city council. They are demoKKKrat cucksters. Tearing down statues. Letting BLM riot. Dropping charges. Promoting Climate Change lies. Building section 8 projections with tax dollars.
It's a nice town, lots of history, great restaurants, water front park/battery. If you haven't been before should probably go. Mask nazi's aren't too bad, just depends on the establishment you go to.
As well you should. I didnt do that second guessing last summer when I was attracted to Bend Oregon to hook up with family on holiday there. It was a nightmare. A sad nightmare. Use to be such a beautiful fun place to visit. Total mask, distancing, santitizing paranoia to the point of closing shops during the day to "sanitize" the store. Monitored "sanitization" stations at the door of businesses before you could go in. I had a conversation with an 8 year old who was afraid all his friends would "forget" him because he couldnt go to school and wondered how many had ALREADY DIED. Can you imagine filling a child with this kind of madness? Its abuse of the highest order. Even outdoor farmers markets had the same "requirements". Never had such a disappointing time while on holiday. I dont plan on going back there again. Oh, and dont get me started on the restaurant thing there....OMG.....
Do not second guess your trip at all. You will have a fantastic time. Go to Myrtle Beach. Enjoy the ocean. It’s a fun beach. We’ve visited there many times with our boys and they have loved it every time. There is so much to do to keep busy. There is the beach, of course, where you can walk for miles, swim, hunt for shells, and relax with a great book. Most hotels have amazing pools and lazy rivers, hot tubs. Many days, my family will just go back and forth between the pools and the beach and never even leave the area. If we do leave, there are numerous entertainment options. If you like outdoor stuff you can visit and fish at the Myrtle Beach State Park. If you don’t fish, it is still fun to walk on the pier and look at the scenery. Often, we see people catching amazing things. My boys have seen a few hammerhead sharks and other types of sharks on the pier, which they love. Huntington Beach State Park is further south (on the way to Charleston) but also great for exploring and finding alligators and Brookgreen Gardens is right nearby. If you like shopping, there is Broadway at the Beach, which again, my kids love. It is full of shops and restaurants. There are activities to do there like riding big paddle boats shaped like swans and feeding carp from the docks, which is cheap entertainment. If you like miniature golf, there is mini golf at Broadway at the Beach and all over the Myrtle Beach area in general...they have dinosaur themes, jungle themes...they have the most golf courses in any area, so if you like regular golf too, this is the place to be. If you like entertainment they have an amusement park right near the ocean and a boardwalk where you can take a walk and grab an ice cream cone. At night, this area can get a little rough, but we have never had a problem (but then again my kids love Bourbon Street in New Orleans, too). If you like shows, they have all sorts of options, including the historic Bowery (where Alabama got its start) and typically there are numerous venues to enjoy music or performances. If you like baseball they have a fun team called the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and you can go to the stadium and enjoy a great evening at the ball park with your family. There are go kart tracks and movie theaters and Tanger Outlet Mall (if shopping is your thing). There are charter boats that will take you out on the water fishing and on dolphin sightings, you can rent jet skis, take a banana boat ride, parasail, learn to sail. If you like dining out there is a great area in Murrell’s Inlet (just south of Myrtle Beach) that is called the Marshwalk and you can find plenty of options for dining. They have kayak rentals, too. If you are bringing your children and looking for a great park there is one off Farrow Parkway called Savannah’s Playground that my boys love. There is a great little pond to walk around, too and plenty of options for shopping and dining off Farrow Parkway, as well. The Myrtle Beach area is full of fun things to do and I am sure you will have a fantastic time. Stop second guessing your trip and get that bikini ready! :)
Well those are the worst places in SC apart from Columbia, but you can still enjoy yourself there. Myrtle Beach has a bit of a crime problem, but visiting should be ok.
The only reason I haven't moved from California is the treatment I get when I show my California ID in other states. Their attitude changes. It goes from Southern charm to passive aggressive interaction immediately. I know why, but would hate to have to explain that I'm not one of "those" Californians.
You should just say "I'm not a liberal". Honestly. That'll clear the air. Southerners are masters of being passive aggressive. And yeah it probably is because you're from California. We are being overrun right now. It's not just a meme. I meet yankees that have moved in the last year, daily. Sometimes 2 or 3 a day. House prices have shot up like 15% in some areas in the last 6 months.
The funny thing is most of the ones who get pissed about us coming from other places and 'ruining the place' are way more liberal than most of us are. The most rock-ribbed conservative people I know in South Carolina are from the northeast.
We need additional form of ID to prove you're a pede. While I definitely give some californians the side eye I've meet some good ones that are simply trying to escape the fuckery in crazy ass california.
Let me say, in all honesty, I feel for all of you good Californian people. I know you are not your "off the rails" government. I was proud of you standing up in the several recall efforts to get rid of Newsom. He is a big part of the problem. I have no doubt you will be suceessful and become an example to many others in other states to take action and do the same as you will make it work for you. Here is the good news: Its so bad there for you now, what you will create afterward will be appreciated, recognized and enjoyed even more because you are all conscious of what you have done. I hope a man called Rick Grenell decides to run for governor after you get rid of Newsom. He is a great guy, intelligent, capable and would be a good advocate for Californians, rather than himself. Hang in there Californian. The best is yet to come!
Virginia is lost at this point. Everytime I see someone with a Virginia Gadsden flag license plate I laugh. That state shouldn't even be allowed to use it at this point
As someone who was raised here, I can assure you it is far from a lost cause. There’s a cancer that has taken a stranglehold over our state known as the federal government. A huge portion of the Virginia economy is based off contracts that rely on the federal government’s infrastructure to function.
I am convinced Dominion and its ilk has been fucking with our state for at least 15 years. My congresswoman miraculously won her race despite the Republican having 60% of the vote with 99% reporting. Came down to 21,000 absentee ballots. Did I mention she’s former CIA too?
That area and the cities (Richmond, Charlottesville, etc) outside of NoVA do not help either. The suburbs and the rural areas are furious at what is happening to our state. Hundreds of thousands of people protested Governor Blackface’s gun control. We were peaceful despite the entire nation looking to us to scapegoat.
There are people here who resent that our history is being bastardized by DC transplants with no history or stake here. It’s infuriating.
I spend a lot of time in NoVa. There were a surprising number of Trump signs. Fairfax County, especially. Post-election, I see almost nothing, for Biden. No flags, no bumper stickers. I routinely see people with MAGA-themed adornments, on their cars.
Loudon, though, has gone insane. Especially the situation with the schools. I’m around a lot of younger people, and all of them are fucked, in the head. A lot of their parents were the government contractors who moved in, 10-20 years ago, and drove up real estate prices, to where only the very wealthy could afford anything. Then, the wealthy vote, as they tend to do.
It isn’t part of Virginia, it’s not even a part of the south. It’s a giant cocktail party for swamp rats.
Honestly I want the area surrounding DC and its suburbs to secede and leave the rest of us out of it. So many people south of DC resent how much NoVA dominates our politics with an air of unearned importance in regards to us plebs from outside the Beltway.
The Great grandson of Robert E. Lee said "slavery and racism is America's original sin" then left the church he was a pastor at. I think yall are done.
The insurrectionists have gained power and have inserted fraud into the election system so they can maintain it, but I think if integrity can be restored, VA has a good chance of going red again.
I like to think it's because I went to my county precinct reorganization meeting and became the precinct chairman. I know it's not, but I like to think it.
That’s my Governor right there. I have a feeling if there ever is another secession, we will be right there in it yet again, except this time it won’t be to keep slaves, it’ll be to keep from being slaves.
I was too and earlier this month when he said we never had a hard mask mandate and now this, it just makes me like him and gives me reassurance that SC is based like I feel it is. Glad to see another SC fren here. Saltyminer11, you down with Mr Salty and are Salty Legion?
You have no idea how this announcement from McMaster made my day! I'm in Greenville and the city council is super blue so they keep updating the mask mandate for 90 days! I'm like, stop with this insanity already! I never wear a mask unless it is a state agency that I have to comply with. Anybody who comes in my business is welcome to leave if they don't like it.
I have not had a problem. I never wear a mask. All the stores have signs up but I just ignore them and go about my business. Everybody is very friendly and accommodating. My yard guy said he went to the ciunty tax office yesterday and Noone there was were wearing a mask. Thats the people who work there.
Polls closed at 7:30 pm on election day. On election night, as votes were tallied, Cooper held an early lead, but was overtaken by McCrory around 9:30 pm, and McCrory held the lead for most of the evening. Shortly before midnight, McCrory held a 60,000 vote lead until a block of 90,000 votes from Durham County was added to the total, putting Cooper back in the lead by fewer than 5,000 votes out of 4,500,000 cast.[5] Both candidates addressed supporters around 12:30 am; Cooper declared victory, while McCrory vowed the race was not over and that every vote needed to be counted.[5]
Quitting the weed was the best thing i did last year. Every relationship in my life has improved. Weed makes you selfish and dulls the brain. Everything in moderation. But I needed to be done with it.
They closed the parks and trails because of covid? Holy shit. Beautiful place but yalls state is backwards as hell. I lived there for a bit. Once heard a white woman announce that she had to get away from "all the white people" in Colorado so she was taking a vacation.
I moved to the free territory of Texas...join us! 😂
I can't imagine the stupidity of preventing people from being on trails during Covid, especially considering we've known being strong and healthy makes such a difference in recovery. I lived in Morrison, Greenwood Village, Centennial and Colorado Springs over the course of many years. It was really wonderful and I thrive in that natural, laid back, outdoorsy environment.
I'm technically in the city of Dallas, which is blue, but Collin county which is red. There are libs here and they're getting increasingly wokey, but the DFW area is enormous (7.5 million people) and are balanced out by the rest of us sane people.
There's a lot to love about Texas, especially nowadays, but the climate and natural surroundings aren't my thing. Overall it's a balance, I went into 2 stores today with no mask and fewer than half of patrons were wearing them...that Texan state of mind helps alleviate my pining for the mountains.
I am a political refugee fleeing Chicago to SC. I bought a house and move my family in a few months and we are so relieved to hear this news. Under no circumstances will we take that damn vaccine, give up our guns, or surrender any more of our unconstitutional rights. It's time to fight back against the communists that are trying to destroy our country.
Thanks! First we're moving to Chapin, SC. We also bought some lakefront property in Prosperity but it will probably take a year or two to build a home there. We are so excited to be done with the cold winter/spring and be a place that shares our conservative Christian values.
Lakefront in Prosperity. Not bad at all. That's a good setup. I was just talking to a younger guy who was talking about doing the same exact thing. But he's from SC so I know it wasn't you. You'll love it.
I just read "The First American: The Life and Times of Benjamin Franklin" by H.W. Brands. It was pretty good.
A rebellion is always legal in the first person, such as "our rebellion." It is only in the third person - "their rebellion" - that it becomes illegal.
It is important. If more people read Maddison and Jefferson, they'd wonder what happened to the country they were trying to shape.
It's also important to recognize that they weren't just selfless patriots sacrificing everything. They were still men, still governed by petty and selfish reasoning. Benjamin Franklin was a British Loyalist until he was snubbed by the members of parliament for coming from the colony.
Funny you mention that since here in Austin a few of us have started a book club a few months ago. Well it started out like that, and slowly morphed into a mask free hangout session somewhere around town. In our defense it has enlarged our group size quite a bit. We'll pick a new book eventually, but we'll most likely adopt the more fun atmosphere that we've maintained. Besides I still want to say hi to those pedes with the Trump flags on there boat on the lake.
https://www.myscgop.com/ they are behind the reorg to oust all RINOs and have been looking into the voting machines here. There is also a group on Telegram that has been discussing it - if you look up "south carolina patriots" it's a public telegram channel where you can follow some of this info.
that's all well and good, but if airlines and some of these lib owned businesses demand them, then we have a whole lot of decisions and choices to make.
This whole vaccine passport concept is what is probably going to get me to move out of Michigan. Unfortunate because it's such a beautiful state that is filled with conservatives but a massive amount of rigging occurs in Detroit keeping the state as a whole down.
funny thing Biden admin dumb asses did not even say they was going to do it. they said they're looking into it. WTF you own all 3 levels of the government yet they just say we'll look into it.
Seems like they just saying random shit at random.
Good. We need to kick and scream about this bullshit right now because if they implement the passports, it'll become the new masks - it'll never go away. Everyone needs to let these globalist CCP democrat evil authoritarian commie bastards that we're onto their scent, and they're too stupid to pull this off.
The South really will rise up again huh?
The last Safe Haven for freedom.
The Dems are sending all their California idiots to Southern states. Watch out
Yes, we have seen quite a handful of them. They first stop in Charlotte, NC then cross over the the border.
Yea, right into my neighborhood 😒
We must be neighbors.
They are everywhere here!!!
Wilmington is a big stopping point for them as well
Micro mimicking macro, or vice versa,
Libtards are like a spreading cancer
Charleston is a liberal shithole.
Whole bunch of demoKKKrats move to Charleston.
They tried to milk the tourism industry. That brings in demoKKKrats who then decide they want to live there.
Highest taxes in the state.
'Fraid of the exterminator?
Folly Beach is where it’s at.
High local cost of living is usually on purpose to ensure the residents are in a higher income bracket. Works pretty well.
Downtown Charleston is expensive for everyone except the hood rats in the projects off Beaufain and America Streets. Felt great paying 1325 for a small ass one bedroom knowing my taxes were helping supplement the criminals smoking weed all day every day.
Thats why Black Bike Week is in Myrtle Beach 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSrR7mhSbcA
I miss that place.
My husband and I are going to Myrtle Beach in May & we were going to visit Charleston. Should we just skip that? Liberals make me angry.
Skip Myrtle if you can. It's absolutely trash.
Charleston for a visit is fantastic. If you like good food and history. It's tourist-y but great. You can visit the old jail that yankees took over (but never found the weapons cache in the basement). And this might sound weird but there are some great ghost tours in the city, too. Moving from a blue state to a red state should forfeit your voting rights for at least 5 years.
Ten and that's a bet.

Maybe don't blame your fellow Americans for mass migration and voter fraud
But I do blame them. Who let it happen?

It's good to have first hand experience with Communists. We're already at war with them and many people are in denial. Know your enemy.
*Northern agression intensifies
Always was.
Nah they'd rather blame California for their changing demographics. Ignore the open borders lmao
Dammit Virginia needs to get in on this shit. I want to rise again too 😭

The Lee’s are a huge family. Another Lee descendant is currently suing the state for the desecration of the Lee monument in Richmond
They’re not all gone
It's just a more rural Maryland shithole
Aint that the truth.
Just cut out NoVa and rise!
Trump won VA. It's not lost. Fix the election laws and ban mail in ballots.
The insurrectionists have gained power and have inserted fraud into the election system so they can maintain it, but I think if integrity can be restored, VA has a good chance of going red again.
Trump won Virginia.
Virginia was stolen too. Lots of evidence to back this up.
Don't expect 'Coonman' Northam to lead that charge.
I can’t wait to see his Michael Jackson costume 🤦🏼♀️
He alternates between that and a Klan robe.
I live in Virginia. We have a liberal governor who paints his face black (Coon Man). He won't go for it.
You've got a bit of housecleaning to do before that happens.
DC suburbanites and Governor Blackface can fuck off. Based Patriots in those areas are still welcome tho 😌
Everyone gangsta til they hear the sound of a rebel yell
Yes, every morning when I wake up.
Yep
I like to think it's because I went to my county precinct reorganization meeting and became the precinct chairman. I know it's not, but I like to think it.
Still makes you a freakin hero. Nicely done.
I still haven't done anything yet. But the county convention is coming up and I'm now able to vote in that.
It was the easiest thing. I literally just showed up. I was the only person there from my precinct, so I got it by default.
I'm working on getting some people to step and fill seats locally here. I can't do it personally, but doesn't mean I can't help the cause.
This is the way!
Are you in Greenville County? I went to our meeting and got president and delegate. Lin Wood will be speaking at the make up delegate meeting on 4-6.
Pickens, so close but a county nobody actually cares about.
You should try to come see Lin wood on April 6 at the delegate makeup meeting at the Hilton on Haywood Rd.
I'll be out of town next week so I won't be able to make it.
Thats funny you say that. When i saw this i was like. Ohh Good the guy got my email.
yipeee Potsie that will fix 'em right up.
That’s my Governor right there. I have a feeling if there ever is another secession, we will be right there in it yet again, except this time it won’t be to keep slaves, it’ll be to keep from being slaves.

Mine too! I have been on the fence about McMaster but this is good!
GVegas? 😂 I’m in between there and Sparkle City! Wild!
Greer checking in.
GTFO! Greer is the next town over. Small world yeah?
You yankees up north, lowcountry and midlands checking in.
Hi neighbor!! Duncan?
I'm just North of you, and have been avoiding going into downtown because of the stupid mask mandate. Are many of the businesses ignoring it?
I have not had a problem. I never wear a mask. All the stores have signs up but I just ignore them and go about my business. Everybody is very friendly and accommodating. My yard guy said he went to the ciunty tax office yesterday and Noone there was were wearing a mask. Thats the people who work there.
SALTY ARMY IS LEGION! KABLAMMO!!!!
It'll be for the same reason. The north wants to push and push and push.
Governor, with all due respect, I’ll give you credit once you prove you’ll stick with this plan and not cave to the mentally ill liberal hive.
Fair, but at least he's not a communist like our (NC) governor.
Agreed 100%. To this day I don't think he legitimately won his reelection.
Or 2016.

I left in 2014 and still miss it every day, but I think the Colorado I miss doesn't really exist anymore.
Will do, friend...and Tulsa is a cool city! There are lots of lovely places in OK.
We Welcome You!! What area of SC you move to?
Thanks! First we're moving to Chapin, SC. We also bought some lakefront property in Prosperity but it will probably take a year or two to build a home there. We are so excited to be done with the cold winter/spring and be a place that shares our conservative Christian values.
Where are you at?
Lakefront in Prosperity. Not bad at all. That's a good setup. I was just talking to a younger guy who was talking about doing the same exact thing. But he's from SC so I know it wasn't you. You'll love it.
Great news, good for you and your family!
We should have a Patriots.Win book of the month profiling each of the Founders so that way we can actually learn and understand these great men.
I just read "The First American: The Life and Times of Benjamin Franklin" by H.W. Brands. It was pretty good.
-Ben Franklin
Just finished it too. He also does a good treatment of Andrew Jackson.
DO IT
Funny you mention that since here in Austin a few of us have started a book club a few months ago.
Check out the John Adams HBO miniseries. Short but good.
I like it.
This basic act of courage by Gov. Henry McMaster ought to be heavily lauded, encouraged and overall rewarded.
Our representatives should know that we will cherish and respect them if they represent American values 🇺🇸 of individual liberty and responsibility.
True patriot this guy
This is the big ask. They are going to pull back from vaccine passports and settle with masks for life if we don't recognize what they are doing.
Not as un-American as a stolen fraudulent election. Fix that shit.
No doubt. we use ESS Voting systems here. Same garbage as Smartmatic and Dominion
And we need to get that shit out of South Carolina. We have a good group of based people working hard to do just that.
Who is this group and what can we do to help?
Does it use fractional voting? That's the big tell in my eyes.
https://www.myscgop.com/ they are behind the reorg to oust all RINOs and have been looking into the voting machines here. There is also a group on Telegram that has been discussing it - if you look up "south carolina patriots" it's a public telegram channel where you can follow some of this info.
They need to make it illegal for employers to require vaccination immediately
And unconstitutional
Born and raised a yank. Think I may become a countryboy.
2 years in the south for every 1 year you were up north, and you'll be an honorary southerner.
Gov Noem also saying she plans to form legislation against them.
Yes SOUTH CAROLINA! I've met some transplants from blue states to SC. Most are conservative.
That's two. Plenty more to go. We will see who is who then.
This goes against free and uninhibited travel between states, really the original responsibility of the federal government.
Its getting to the point that were not going to have to secede, the federal government is seceding US!
This all sounds like secession with extra steps.
that's all well and good, but if airlines and some of these lib owned businesses demand them, then we have a whole lot of decisions and choices to make.
Clemson representing!
Any day now Governor Abbott.
Wish in one hand. ____ in the other.
Do no masks next.
NH "live free or die" needs to step up! Our Gov. Needs a wakeup call. :(
your East of the Blue curtain comrade.
This whole vaccine passport concept is what is probably going to get me to move out of Michigan. Unfortunate because it's such a beautiful state that is filled with conservatives but a massive amount of rigging occurs in Detroit keeping the state as a whole down.
Everyone needs to be messaging their governors and telling them to block Biden vaccine passports.
Why the FUCK has Texas not made a similar statement by now?
Now do NY, NJ lol
Good! That's 2 states within driving distance of me where I can vacation if I choose.
I am making a list of all these states that ain't batshit crazy for when I retire.
Idaho too. I got a reply back from my governor saying basically "oh hell no"
funny thing Biden admin dumb asses did not even say they was going to do it. they said they're looking into it. WTF you own all 3 levels of the government yet they just say we'll look into it.
Seems like they just saying random shit at random.
Its a psyop. Its there to keep the population wondering.
Or demand that the vaxpass be used at voting booths, then they’ll change their tune.
BASED
Democrats should be visibly marked.
People voting Democrat have caused FAR MORE deaths than Covid ever will.
Biden and Beto voters should have to wear the mark on their foreheads... a large L would be appropriate.
Yes, but kids under 16 can still get the vaccine without parents permission. Whoever approved that needs to hang.
Helloooooo Texas??
This is the only response.
Thank God there are some people in power resisting this crap
So are mask mandates, but there they are.
they have no standing, just don’t wear one
The big news is that no state has had mask mandates because they are unenforceable.
Just secede already
We need to pile on this Tweet. The sheep are all over it.
Idaho next plz.
Excellent news...let is spread like wildfire throughout our nation! Patriots unite!
Good. We need to kick and scream about this bullshit right now because if they implement the passports, it'll become the new masks - it'll never go away. Everyone needs to let these globalist CCP democrat evil authoritarian commie bastards that we're onto their scent, and they're too stupid to pull this off.
Let's see if Granny Kay in AL follows suit. NM, Governor Meemaw is too frail to rock the boat.
I can’t wait to move from my Commie State.
Good for SC
