Well the firehouse is a special case. The way most people treat lightbulbs an incandescent lightbulb would not normally last nearly that long. Nowadays lightbulb planned obsolescence isnt really a thing anymore with led bulbs existing but it definitely was in the mid 20th century.
Funny story, I fixed some equipment for a fire engine. The manufacturer wouldn’t give them repair documentation. Told them to buy a new box. Fuck that.
