Tattooing is not murdering and I might ask, that if murdering was the objective, then why bother with tattoos? Oh and if you are asking advice on murdering, then you might want to ask Stalin and his group of murdering Jews that go by the title of NKVD. They will tell you starvation works rather nicely.
I'll give this one shot. They were work camps. If you were able bodied they would work you to death, if you were old or young, you were of no use and they would kill you. They were tattooed to keep track of them. Some people survived because the war came to an end before they were worked to death. It is well documented. There were trials in Nuremberg. My father-in-law was stationed there at that time.
Wait a second here, are you saying they weren't gassed? Oh and worked to death usually only happen when not enough food is given. That was kinda hard to do with the allied carpet bombing campaign destroying the infrastructure and all. So what you are saying is that these ppl who you call Jews died indirectly from the allied carpet bombing campaign and were not gassed?
