Quite the firestorm you've started here, fren. I'm not staying my opinion, but wanted to point out something important.

I wouldn't say faith has no use, because that's just untrue. Faith can serve different purposes to different qpeople.

Some rely on faith for emotional purposes. It gives them hope when they have none. It gives them comfort to believe that someone is out there, or that there is some purpose to an otherwise chaotic universe. That's a use, even if you disagree with it, and sometimes its a very important one.

And even to someone who doesn't believe in God, faith is important because you have to at least believe in yourself or what use are you? If you don't believe in the God in Heaven, shouldn't you believe in the one inside of you? Metaphorically speaking. Without faith in oneself, what a miserable individual one would be.

Of course if you've ever been to the atheist subreddits you'd see that faith is very important to them too. Just not in God. But every time I've stopped by there, it's nonstop climate change. They've traded one religion for another, pseudo religion, but faith is still the source of it. As if it were something ingrained in to us, manifesting as a warped version of itself, transforming "science" into a kind of religion into itself and while I have your attention would you like to talk about our lord and savior climate change? Because that's where they're at.

Faith is a powerful and dangerous thing, but you shouldn't ignore it's importance, or else you might wake up one day next to a fedora.

I think judging my abilities based on what I've done in the past and what I can reasonably infer I can do is much more sound than blind faith in myself. There are obviously things I will never be able to do no matter how much faith in myself I have.

Fair comparison. Faith vs blind faith.

I can make inferences, based on evidence. If you want to call that faith, then I guess. A better example is that everyone has to accept that there is a physical universe and that we can learn things about this universe more or less on faith, regardless if you're religious or not.
