This is how fixated they are on CO2. They don't get that this makes CO2 reduction moot since the climate would be "protected" by this geoengineering. Don't get me wrong, SCoPEx is silly and more importantly a pointless experiment since we already know that atmospheric dust can lower global temps, it happens every time a volcano or large scale wildfire occurs. We don't need to test that theory, we already know it to be true.
That being said, a maneuverable space based "sail" would be more practical. Stick something like that in solar synchronous orbit to block a faction of the sun and you now have climate control. At least until an evil villain takes control and threatens to plunge the earth into eternal winter unless we give the one meeeelllion dolars!
