They only way they dont get paid is if you take your kids out of school. California schools are all UNIONIZED. TAKE YOUR KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL because they get paid by ADA - Average Daily Attendance, it is hard to get a teacher fired by they can get laid off due to low enrollment. When teachers get laid off, the union doesnt get paid either. That is how you cripple both the teachers and the union. Charter schools are NOT generally unionized. Check with your local charter school. Lobby your legislators for vouchers!!!
Remove your child from public school and file a home affidavit between Oct. 1st -15th.
Choose and purchase the curriculum you think is appropriate for your child (there is much free resources and guidelines.)
Begin teaching your child and keep an attendance every day.
Things to know: Time is flexible to your child and your family's needs, you teach what is appropriate, IEP is determined and shaped by you and your child's needs directly, science is more fun in the forest and on the beach than in the classroom, someone can check up on the attendance and that is all, and finally, while uncommon, there is potential for child(ren) to drop out of sight, so be involved, keep an eye on the kids collectively.
Home schooling can be fun once you set yourself and your children free.
