Let's be honest, if those kids aren't mining cobalt they're going to be used as child soldiers. At least they can potentially get paid this way. Really though, those countries are beyond hopeless. They barely get by with the entire international community dumping money, food, medicine, and soldiers/weapons on them. And even then some countries still collapse. Now they've got ISIS franchises sprouting up all over the place. Better to get what resources we can out of there now before they become full-on caliphates. It's only a matter of time before they do.
