When everything is provided “free” to the masses there is no incentive to work. The less that work the less is produced which eventually results in shortages and famine. At this point the only means of “encouraging” people to produce instead of just consume is to severely punish those who refuse to produce by sending them to forced labor camps. At some point there will be so many useless consumers that the only real way to deal with them is mass murder. In the end communism devours itself because it is the only thing it can do.
