“I put my stuff on the counter, snuck out the door, ran to my car, grabbed my pistol and came back up to the door,” Moore told KTVF. “He just turned to look at me. I racked my slide on my pistol and pointed it at him and he put his hands up.”

Uh, buddy . . . you fucked up at least twice, possibly three times, there. You left your firearm in your car, you had to rack the slide, and you left the gas station.

Your pistol should be on your hip.

A round should always be chambered.

If you successfully exit the building, then going back in armed would be considered extremely risky and bring a shitload of legal issues if you had to discharge your pistol after doing so.

And it could have gone way south way quick. He wasn't initially armed, he'd left his pistol, uncharged, in his vehicle.

From a legal perspective, by leaving the building, he was no longer in danger. If the robber was reported, then this citizen is now 'man with a gun' during a criminal situation involving a 'man with a gun'.
