The idea that pacifism in the face of child rapists and tyrants is a virtue is the biggest lie ever told, and is just as responsible for our country's situation as communists. Communism is slavery to the government, and the last time slavery was eradicated it took a civil war, this time will be no different.
Note that this isn't an excuse to not get involved locally. Know your allies, and already have connections with the people you are going to rebuild your community with.
I am not saying Pacifism is the only way forward. I am saying there are still nonviolent paths we can try. Failing to try all nonviolent paths before engaging in violence is morally reprehensible.
That said, there is a point at which violence becomes the only viable path to end oppression. We're not there yet.
You have to be prepared mentally before you are physically. That's why more people need to prepare even if they don't think we are there yet, so that when the time comes wills are steeled. "If you want peace prepare for war".

I do not believe I have EVER said we should not be prepared for violence.
