About Gaetz: don’t fall into the trap of claiming to believe his innocence. The answer should be “I don’t care because of how the information was released suggest impropriety on the part of the investigators. It could be 💯% true...try being less corrupt”.

Whistleblower has confirmed he is not entirely clean, and this move is a way to atone, to get back on the “good side of things”. He is guilty of something related, but not the current smear campaign. Going public and naming the FBI and ex-DOJ official by name is part of his steps back to the good side.
