Is exactly why US corporations don't give a shit about trampling all over Americans anymore. They have a way bigger market to satisfy, they could lose 50-70% or more of the US market and they more than make up for it in China.
We are entering the age of corporate authoritarianism. All the authoritarian measures that the government is not allowed to implement are being implemented by proxy through "private business". In fact a lot of what's happening feels like it's being directed out of Beijing. If these businesses don't do what Xi Jinping wants, BOOM... no more access to a 1.4 billion person market overnight.
It's actually disgusting to witness.
