According to NYC Crime Reporting, Chinatown (5th Precinct) has the lowest crime rate per 1000 residents of any of the precincts in Southern Manhattan. That's based on the current stats for the city. What the fuck is happening in the rest of NYC that is not getting any coverage?
Midtown Manhattan (Manhattan South Precinct) has the highest crime rate per 1000 residents by far. The rate is more than 10x of the crime rate in Chinatown and surrounding neighborhoods. What the fuck is happening in Midtown Manhattan and why are people fixating on Chinatown and not where the actual measurable problem is?

They put in a fuckton of homeless shelters into boutique hotels since covid. Nyc taxpayers (now u.s. taxpayers) funding it.
Doesn’t surprise me. Thanks for the information.
In Manhattan, the mentally ill homeless rule the midtown streets.
Yup, but of course that’s not something the city or communities should be addressing. Instead let’s hype hate crimes.
