Well, that one is hard to rewrite because there is so much evidence for it, and even the most fervent liberals have to agree. HOWEVER, they would say that's what it started as, but that's not how it ended up, and go into a diatribe on how it turned into the most racist party.
BUT...ask them which party had ALWAYS supported the civil rights act? Hint: it wasn't Dems; they fought it tooth and nail, and MANY opposed, while a higher percent of Republicans supported it. LBJ was a fucking first class racist and fought it tooth and nail. He only signed it into law because it was politically expedient.
