Moscow. April 3rd. INTERFAX.RU - For the first time since the introduction of additional measures to comply with the ceasefire in Donbass, the Armed Forces of Ukraine opened fire from 120-mm artillery on the positions of the People's Militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) near the village of Kalinovo-Borshchevate, a representative of the LPR military department said Yakov Osadchiy.
According to him, a total of 16 shells were fired at the positions of the People's Militia of the LPR. LPR units returned fire.
"To ensure the safety of the peaceful population of the Republic, our defenders were forced to open fire on enemy positions from which they fired from weapons not prohibited by the Minsk agreements. Enemy losses are being specified," added a representative of the People's Militia of the LPR.
According to him, the facts of violations of the ceasefire regime were promptly brought to the representatives of the Ukrainian side in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC) "in order to take measures and exclude the accusation of the People's Republic of provocations."
"We call on international observers and the OSCE leadership to record another fact of gross violation of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian side," Osadchy said.
Additional measures to control the ceasefire have been in effect in Donbass since July 27, 2020 and include a ban on the activities of sabotage and reconnaissance groups and a ban on firing, including sniper fire.
