The more I've been learning about shooting the more I've realized how much of an idiot I've been in the past. Holding the gun very firmly and keeping it from moving as much as possible when firing and under control is probably the most important aspect to keeping shots on target. I've been watching some YouTube videos from experts as well for pointers.

Trigger discipline is 90% of your shot placement. Sight picture 10%. Grip control is for follow-up shots by preventing malfunctions and returning sight picture to target.
If you’re at self defense ranges of like 7ft you can hold the gun like a tard and still get a decent shot off as long as you are pulling the trigger properly
