The French got really pissed at the Muslims after so many terrorist attacks. Personally, I am more libertarian on this issue, though, I contend under 18-year olds should have protections from the state to guarantee their life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and property from their parents and from themselves (as they are too young to effectively make certain decisions). In this case, the problem is young Muslim women being forced by their parents to wear the hijab and the growing Islamification of France. Banning the hijab for under 18 year olds solves the first, but not the latter.
