They have one at my market. I park my cart in front of it and watch it squeal for help. If you block it right when it starts to pivot, it really freaks out. A porter will come
By and say “sir is this your cart? The robot can’t get out” and then I act all surprised “oh, yeah. Sorry about that”. You can really only do it once per trip, but it’s something I look forward to.
what the hell? This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen in terms of automation. Really? A $35k robot is needed to detect trash on the floor? And on top of that you pay $35k and all the robot can do is yell that someone needs to pick it up? Lol
Out-of-stocks. Empty shelves. Price discrepancies. Planogram inconsistencies. They all happen—and they all cost you. The Badger Technologies autonomous robot will scan shelves and automatically address these operational inefficiencies.
I feel like with the amount of surveillance tech and pixel training/object capture we can do with computers that you could just do this with a camera system.
Like I'm pretty sure you could set up static cams and paint the floor as an area and train a pc to detect trash and highlight it. Could probably send the feed to maintenance crew on the new telzons that are basically smart phones with armor. So that way there is just a little alert whenever there is trash and they can just go to it

Agreed! We are just letting them take over without a fight.
Electrocute your local neighborhood robot!
Shameful robot racism...
God Bless you!

you have to understand, this is not an automated cleaner, this is an automated manager... and the managers get to decide how to spend the money lmao.
I mean.. just buy some Roombas?
A slip-and-fall lawsuit will cost the company more than $35K.
When I first read about these robots, their purpose was to check that items were stocked and faced.
Woodman’s Markets Rolls Out Shelf-Scanning Robots
Scanning shelves. Boosting profitablilty.
NPC aimlessly roams around, knocking shit over, and making a loud fuss so someone can clean up its mess.
Sounds like a leftist to me.
Job security!
Why is it so tall
It's for scanning the shelves.
now that's progress!
I always say “Marty get the fuck out of my way”
