Agreed. We really need to cut down on the amount of jogging that we’re doing. A healthy balance of physical activity and murder is necessary, but we’ve swung way to far in the physical activity/jogging direction.

Murder is up, but NYC in the 80s and early 90s was a fucking warzone. It was once the murder capital of the country. The peak was 1990 with 2,245 homicides. 1994, Rudy's first year in office, there were 1,561 homicides and 641 when he left in 2001. The record low was 289 in 2018, believe it or not under this clown's administration. Last year there were 400+ murders. DiBlasio may be the worst mayor New York City's ever had, but even HE can't match the chaos of the crack epidemic.
While the NYPD has done amazing work at combating the criminal element in the city over the decades, especially organized crime, what really changed is that NYC (and especially Manhattan) turned into an exclusive club. A well-guarded playground for the rich. And, for the most part and despite what Law & Order might tell you, the rich don't murder each other.
I try to avoid the deeper, less provable conspiracy theories, however it is looking a lot like there is an organized attempt to have killers with guns everywhere, so that they can pass a law and claim we asked for it.
