Exactly. He hated Trump and was happy to help dems get rid of him. But he is a politician and he understands that he has no political future, no chance of reelection if the rules don't get changed. He doesn't want to have the same election system when HE is on the ballot. The same system that Trump and us complained about. What a hypocrite!
I don't know that he "hated" Trump per session, but it became clear he does not solidly adhere to principles and instead does what is expedient based on how he perceived the current state of affairs.
His political career relies on getting this bill passed. He’s only looking out for himself and had no problem throwing the rest of us under the bus.

He's definitely bought and paid for. Whether he hates Trump or not is irrelevant. He had his role to play and I'm sure was rewarded.
